- Help manage the entry line of customers.
- Assist customers in finding used ski gear on the ski floor and direct them to the check out line.

Solstice Tree Tour
The Solstice Tree Tour is a celebration of Winter Solstice, festive holiday trees, and healthy outdoor fun for all ages (as well as skiers and non-skiers) and is an Anchorage winter tradition! The Solstice Tree Tour showcases Kincaid’s winter magic while bringing the community together to celebrate and showcase Anchorage’s trails.
This is a very social event and we are looking for people who want to get their sparkle on and be part of the crew to bring light to the Mize Loop for the Solstice season.
As for any event, NSAA is looking for committed people to set-up and take down the stations. During the event we have hot cocoa stations, fire pits with tools and fixings to make S’mores! All slots available allow you for time to enjoy the event. Set up or work a station then play OR Play then work a station and help take down and pack-up supplies. Interested? Use the QR code above or click here to visit the 2026 Solstice Tree Tour Volunteer Sign-up Page.
Ski For Kids
The Ski For Kids is an annual event to give kids a taste of what winter has to offer! There is a 2.5K race, fat-tire biking stations, biathlon, orienteering and more! This event is a collaboration event between the Municipality of Anchorage Park & Recreation and NSAA. Volunteer options are through the Municipality Volunteer Sign-up Page.
Alaska Ski For Women
The Alaska Ski for Women is North America’s largest women’s cross-country ski event, with close to 1,000 Alaska women coming together to celebrate skiing in beautiful Kincaid Park. On the first Sunday in February, women of all ages and abilities- many in colorful costumes- come out to ski approximately 4 km (2.4 miles) decorated course. The event supports the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and nonprofits working to stop domestic violence in Alaska.
NSAA is looking for a race director to lead an established, hard working organizational committee for the 2027. View the position description here. A stipend is available for this leadership position.
Tour of Anchorage
The Tour of Anchorage has an organizing committee of Chiefs that manage the larger planning pieces of the event. NSAA is currently looking for a lead volunteer to serve as Chief for the 25K Start at APU and possibly other key positions. Most shifts are 3-3.5 hours so if you had part of a day to help at this event, many hands make for light work. If you are interested in learning more about the Tour of Anchorage, contact the Volunteer Coordinator, use the QR code above or visit the 2027 Tour of Anchorage Volunteer Sign-up page.
Jobs for Racers:
- Saturday bib pick-up is a fun way to mingle with other skiers and visit with community friends.
- Have a lot to say?: There are announcer positions to help cheer on the finishers as they cross the line.
- Set-up Crew: loves to have people who are fans of lining up blue fencing and stakes for flagging in a straight line.
- Are you a born cheerleader? Work the finish line congratulating people on their race and directing them to the feed station and after party in the Kincaid Chalet.
- Feeling Hospitable? NSAA has a tradition of treating the morning volunteers to coffee & donuts as well as keeping the Stadium & Timing volunteers nourished with lunches. NSAA Organizing Committee will either order food for a volunteer to pickup & deliver to Kincaid or organize a crew of volunteers to bring crockpots, sandwiches, and treats to feed our helpers throughout this long day of racing.
- Gear Bag Expediters Needed. Drivers travel between APU & Kincaid Bunker or Service & Kincaid Bunker to deliver gear bags dropped at the start. Drivers will make 2 or 3 trips between the locations.
Ski Train
Information about the Ski Train can be found here. There are not usually any volunteer positions required for this event but if you have an interest in being part of organizing the Ski Train, send an email to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Lake Loppet
NSAA organizes a visit to area lakes: Sand, Sundi, and Jewel Lakes to celebrate spring. NSAA is working on assembling a committee to plan this event, which is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while giving back to the community. The 2026 Lake Loppet was a FUNdraiser that supported local youth cross-country ski programs . There will be snacks, fire pits, beverages, and of course… plenty of skiing around the lake!
If you saw the event last year and think you have great ideas to take it up a notch, send an email to the Volunteer Coordinator!
