Strutz Family

A pioneer skiing family, the Strutz’s were very active in the early days of the Nordic Ski Club. Louis Strutz was club president in 1969-70 and was instrumental in getting the first lights at Russian Jack Springs Park. Sharon and Debbie Strutz were part of the first girls team representing Alaska at Jr. Nationals in 1967, garnering top honors in both the relay and individual races. Bill Strutz was a top junior racer winning individual races at Jr. Nationals in 1974. Louis and Jean Strutz were awarded lifetime membership in the Nordic Ski Club (now NSAA) in 1973.
