Randy Bergt (1957-2017)

Lifetime member Randy Bergt began his involvement with NSAA as a Junior Nordic coach and coached the Service High School ski team from 1992-1997. He helped design and build the timing building at Kincaid and coordinated the expansion of the Service/Hillside trails to include the lighted course near Service High School subsequently named for him (Randy’s Loop). Randy’s love of outdoor recreation was evident in all facets of his life. Workwise, he was a project manager who developed transit-to-trail systems and took pride in biking to work using those routes he had helped develop. Randy tragically died in an avalanche while telemark skiing at Hatcher Pass.
