ASD High School

The high school cross country skiing practices and races are a program of the Anchorage School District. The program offers after-school lessons. This program is also a non-cut program, meaning any child, male or female, may ski and race on their school’s team. ASD contracts with the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage to organize and officiate the races that occur during the winter months beginning in November typically and ending in February.

In addition to providing year-round trail maintenance, NSAA grooms the race course and provides volunteers for ASD races. Support NSAA’s work by becoming a member.

Hosting A Race

Important Waxing Rules: Region IV coaches have agreed that no flouro waxes will be used. This means only CH waxes will be used at all Region IV races.

Race Application: Email forms to Ida Gullett racing@anchoragenordicski.com by November 15th.
Race Map: Please include the map you are going to use (must be approved by Ida first).
Email us race details which includes start times, course maps, course descriptions, and any other information that is important to everyone concerning the race the due the Tuesday BEFORE your race.
