Supporting NSAA’s Mission to the future and beyond…
The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage was established in 1964 as a 501(3) non-profit to promote healthy lifestyles through Nordic skiing and sustaining community trails year-round. The NSAA Endowment Fund will support the association’s mission in perpetuity.
Sixty years! Can you believe it? It started with a little race in Bootleggers Cove in January 1964. From that humble beginning, the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) has fostered Nordic skiing in our community. One of the NSAA’s goals in its 60th year has been to create an endowment to build and prolong Nordic skiing’s legacy in Anchorage. We proudly announce that we have established the NSAA Endowment Fund at the Alaska Community Foundation. We invite you to make a foundational gift to support this endowment.
Our initial goal was to raise $60,000 for the fund – $1,000 for each year since the club’s founding. Endowments are perpetual funds, whose income provides stability and opportunities to build for the future. With this endowment, NSAA will have a permanent savings account overseen by the Alaska Community Foundation that will grow through strategic investing, ongoing donations, bequests, and legacy gifts from NSAA supporters.
Your tax-deductible gift can be payable to the Alaska Community Foundation (tagged for NSAA Endowment Fund) or made online on the ACF webpage. Join us in celebrating the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage’s accomplishments over the last sixty years and helping set the course for the next sixty!

GIVE FROM YOUR IRA MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION
If you are 73 or older, you can donate up to $100,000 annually from a traditional IRA to a charity such as ACF without incurring taxes today or estate and income taxes in the future. If you are 73, you can donate all or part of your required minimum distribution and save on taxes. If you are married, both partners can give up to $100,000 from each traditional IRA annually.
MAKE A GIFT THROUGH STOCKS OR MUTUAL FUNDS
One of the best ways to maximize your giving is to give a gift of appreciated stock or mutual fund shares. You can transfer stock directly from your account to ACF. Please get in touch with ACF at info@alaskacf.org or call (907) 334-6700 for instructions and to notify them of any transfers made so they know the stock came from you and can direct it to the fund you wish.
CONSIDER A GIFT IN YOUR WILL OR NAMING ACF AS A BENEFICIARY ON YOUR IRA
Donating through your estate plans will provide you with peace of mind and allow you to contribute to a more caring Alaska in the future. ACF provides confidential, personalized philanthropy advising on including a gift in your estate plans to a cause or community you care about. We will draft a Legacy Fund agreement that can be included in your estate plans and can be easily updated for free if your interests change.
