Snowmaking Update: New Pump to be Installed
Update on snowmaking operations at Kincaid Park: Last week was a busy one, as the failed 900-pound pump was pulled from its 400-foot-deep well by M&W Drilling. This week, a new, more efficient pump and necessary electrical equipment are expected to be installed by a team of NSAA staff and volunteers and an electrical contractor. The old pump will be inspected locally; if it is feasible to repair, it will be fixed and then either kept for backup or sold.
Thank you to our Nordic ski community for your continued patience and support as we work to get the snowmaking system back online as soon as possible, while also being thoughtful about the system, the process and costs. And a special thank you to all the NSAA staff, volunteers and members, as well as the many contractors, community organizations and individuals, who have partnered to fix this complicated and vital snowmaking system. We appreciate you all. We will provide another update in the days ahead.
