Newest Addition to the NSAA Team
NSAA is thrilled to announce the addition of Sara Kamahele as its new Program Manager. Born and raised in Anchorage, Sara is a UAA and UAS graduate who holds a master’s degree in public administration and has extensive program management and nonprofit experience, including working with the American Diabetes Association in Alaska. Sara and her family are also part of our tight-knit Nordic community; she’s been an NSAA event and program participant, volunteer and supporter for most of her life.
Sara credits NSAA for helping her build character in her early years. She worked hard to get her Hawk jacket in Junior Nordic, learning the value of persistence and dedication. A few seasons later, after racing in Besh Cups and for Bartlett High, she felt support from the organization and the local ski community as an NSAA scholarship recipient. Now, as an adult skier, she’s often participating or volunteering at NSAA events and says she is continually inspired by Anchorage’s extensive, world-class trail system and the efforts NSAA puts into the continued maintenance of those trails.
Sara feels that her life and career journey has brought her to a perfect fit on the NSAA staff. We agree and are enthusiastic about what Sara and her background in program management, event management and business administration, can do to elevate NSAA and its programs in the seasons ahead. Sara will no doubt hit the ground running, but please feel free to introduce yourself and join NSAA and its board of directors in welcoming her to our organization. We are all even more excited about the ski season ahead!
