Snow, Groom, Snow, Groom…Wash, Rinse, Repeat
Snow is for skiing on…and it just keeps coming! Mother Nature sure knows how to make Anchorage feel lucky as even more snow blanketed our fair city and surrounding areas for the last several days. Remembering the past few winters of nothing but ice to ski on makes one really appreciate this seemingly endless weather pattern. This is job security for the Groomers, who have worked day after day grooming our favorite trails, only to have them dumped on hours later, making it seem like they were never there. It’s like laundry and dishes…it doesn’t seem to end and the Groomers are continuously playing “catch up” as they chase their tails in pursuit of a clean finish. They will continue forward to achieve this goal and ask for your patience, understanding and help. Yes, you can help simply by heading to the trails and “skiing down” the fresh snow…it’s good for you, it’s good for the trails, it’s good for the person who skis after you and it’s good for the grooming. Our goal is to groom the high traffic trails first and work out from there. Please know that we appreciate our skiers and are doing our best to groom the trails as quickly as possible. In the meantime, enjoy the snow!
