Special Delivery…SNOW!
Wow…what a weekend! It’s probably safe to say that from Friday night to Tuesday morning Anchorage and surrounding areas received around 12″ of snow, give or take a few inches, here and there. With the arrival of every snowflake, grateful winter recreationalists emerged with renewed hope and toothy grins from ear to ear. On the trails Sunday afternoon between snow storms, I witnessed and joined hoards of skiers happily gliding through the soft, unbroken marshmallow fluff, singing praises of it’s return.
I can assure you that the outdoor enthusiasts aren’t the only happy campers. The Groomers are very pleased to move from snow machine grooming to the more comfortable cab of a heated snow cat. With Pisten Bully grooming and lots of new snow, you will begin to see more consistent diagonal tracks where they haven’t been in years.
The Groomers will do their best to groom as many trails as quickly as they can. They will prioritize the larger venues and work out from there and appreciate your patience and understanding. In the meantime, head outside and use the trails…there’s a chill coming soon, so stay warm!!
