Before you buy: Local sport businesses such as AMH, Barney's and REI (and other local ski shops) have experts to help you buy the best fitting skis for you. Play It Again Sports is a good resource for new and used skis. However, make sure the equipment fits your weight and height properly. Check the ski swaps but be careful to fit your skis and poles properly. It will make the difference between enjoying the sport or not. A ski is just not a ski.

BOOT NOTE: You can get away with purchasing "Combi Boots" instead of buying both classic and skate boots but we recommend owning both types of boots for better enjoyment.
